An Infographic on Netiquette : How to Behave Properly on Internet

Overview

    For this assignment, I was responsible for creating an infographic with its key points through an enjoyable and engaging way about some topics that has been covered in "Instructional Technologies and Material Design in English Language" class. 

Why Did I Choose This Topic?

    I wanted to cover netiquette because I have heard it for the first time and it got my attention in the class and when I learned about it thoroughly, I wanted to work on it. For the ones who do not know about what netiquette is, it is how to behave appropriately on online to get along with other users. And, I believe it has a great importance when we consider that now technology is a staple part of our daily lives and as a teacher candidate who will be teaching to digital natives in the very soon future, I wanted to emphasize to it in this blog of mine. 

Design Process 

    To design this infographic, I used Canva as a tool. I found a basic template with light colours and I have added the necessary information about netiquette. I have used a course material to write the tips in infographic. I used light colours and many images in order to make it appealing and readable. I have had a slightly hard time organizing all the information I gathered for this project but I managed to overcome this problem and I came up with a concise and beneficial infographic for the ones who are curious about what netiquette is. 

My Reflections on This Assignment 

    To be honest with you all, it was a first-time experience for me to create an infographic. It was not definitely as easy as I thought since thinking "I could do a better one than this" so it took a while to complete my project. However, I am pretty satisfied with the final result. As a foreign language teacher I hold the view that we should design infographics in order to make the language that we teach more compelling and interesting to our students in the classroom.

A Vox-Pop Podcast : Our Journey of Creating One

 Hey everyone ^^      Today I am here with an amazing work that I have created and enjoyed so much during the process. An English Podcast!      For this project, we were asked to create an ELT podcast either alone or with a pair. My friend Baran and I have come up with a vox-pop podcast where we asked a bunch of students of Marmara University from different departments about a single question. Which fictional character would you want as a teacher? Their responses showed us that many students prefer clever, confident and slightly mysterious characters such as like Sherlock Holmes, Dr. House, and Harvey Specter. Besides, the female characters were lesser than male characters among all the answers.
